(Ventura, Ca) Amgen’s Tour of California showcased Ventura County on Monday with the Men’s Stage 2 . The riders starting at the Ventura Pier before traveling through Oxnard, Camarillo, Santa Paula, Ojai and into Santa Barbara County. Local cycling fans gained the chance to experience a portion of the race up close.
Beginning just a few feet from the Pacific Ocean with contenders and sprinters alike, fans enjoyed the sun-soaked vibe of Ventura with riders enduring 98 miles and 7,700 feet of elevation.
The race includes 7 stages
Stage 1: Long Beach
Stage 2: Ventura to Gibraltar Road at Santa Barbara County
Stage 3: King City to Laguna Seca Recreation Area
Stage 4: San Jose / Morgan Hill
Stage 5: Stockton to Elk Grove
Stage 6: Folsom to South Lake Tahoe
Stage 7: Sacramento
The 7th stage completes on Saturday, May 19.
