Established in 1970, Channel City Kennel Club is a non-profit dog club devoted to furthering and protecting the interests of purebred dogs and fanciers. CCKC is a member club of the American Kennel Club. It’s activities include conducting AKC Dog Shows and Obedience Trials, Matches, seasonal Handling Class, Canine Ambassadors, Paws to Read, and Canine Good Citizenship tests.
The Club encourages good sportsmanship at all AKC events. The club promotes the general welfare of dogs in our society via public education and responsible dog ownership.
The Club meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm at the Santa Barbara Humane Society. The Club welcomes new members who are interested in the purebred dog fancy, owning, showing and breeding purebred dogs, as well as those interested in additional dog activities including our two therapy dog programs, Canine Ambassadors (working in preschools to introduce children to responsible dog ownership and care) and Paws to Read (in conjunction with the Goleta Public Library).
