Light Rains this morning clean the air in southern California with clear weather expected today

(Ventura County, Ca) Light rains arrived late in the evening Wednesday night and continued through the early morning. The consistent drizzle hydrated vegetation after the Woolsey Fire during a period of drought for the region. As of 8:00am, zero precipitation was expected until the afternoon. Thereafter, the number rises to under 5%.

The National Weather Service conveyed the benefit of the rain to clean the ash in the air to improve air quality. According to www.airnow.gov, Ventura County and surrounding areas have a 25 AQI, which is a “Good” rating with a green color on the Air Quality Index.

Today’s high is expected to reach 67 degrees with mostly sunny skies.
