Oxnard Police Department Officers Receive Awards from MADD

Oxnard Police Department- Madd Awards

(Oxnard, Ca) Southern California Regional Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) celebrated their Law Enforcement Recognition Awards Luncheon, where five of Oxnard’s finest were recognized for their efforts in DUI and Impaired Driver enforcement.

Between these five officers, a combined total of over 200 DUI arrests were made across Oxnard.

The officers recognized were Senior Officer Paul Knapp, Officer Jose Diaz, Officer Phil Flores, Officer Justin Songer, and Officer Jamie Toney .

According to statistics provided by MADD, approximately 300,000 drinking and driving incidents occur per year. If these incidents about 290,000 people are injured and about 10,265 deaths occur each year. That is 1 death every 51 minutes. To learn more about your local MADD chapter, click here.
