Team USA Win Title at Master’U

(Grenoble, France) Ashley Lahey of the Pepperdine women’s tennis team won three singles matches over three days, and helped the U.S. Master’U Collegiate team defeat returning champions Great Britain, 4-1, in Sunday’s final to win the team’s eighth Master’U by BNP Paribas international collegiate team competition title in the last 10 years in Grenoble, France.

Lahey joined other men’s and women’s collegiate standouts from across the nation, including UCLA’s Jada Hart and Duke’s Maria Mateas on the women’s side and USC’s Brandon Holt, Florida’s Oliver Crawford and Georgia’s Emil Reinberg on the men’s side.

In the final, Lahey, Crawford and Holt won in singles, then Mateas and Hart paired up to clinch the title for the U.S. with a victory in doubles.

Each team match consisted of two men’s and two women’s singles matches, one women’s and one men’s doubles match and a mixed doubles match.  Complete results can be found by visiting the Master’U BNP Paribas website here.

The Americans were coached by Boise State men’s coach Greg Patton and University of California, Berkeley women’s coach Amanda Augustus.
