
(Thousand Oaks, CA) Thousand Oaks attorney, Shane Loomis, was arrested and charged with Gross Vehicular Manslaughter While Intoxicated for the death of Amanda Gannon.
On March 16, 2019, at about 11:54 pm, the Thousand Oaks Police Department and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a single vehicle traffic collision at Erbes Rd. and Westland Ave. Loomis suffered moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The passenger, Amanda Gannon, suffered major injuries and was also transported by ambulance to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Loomis was traveling north on Erbes Rd. and was approaching Westland Ave. when his vehicle collided with a tree and then overturned. He was later arrested and booked for vehicular manslaughter and his bail was set at $50,000.00. According to the Ventura County District Attorney’s office Loomis had a blood-alcohol level of 0.15 or nearly double the legal limit.
The collision is still under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Traffic Bureau. Anyone who might have witnessed the collision or has additional information is asked to contact Sr. Deputy Dan Ambarian at (805) 494-8245.
