
(Ventura County, Ca) Ventura County local sports fans for high school athletics should prepare themselves for the brave new world of newly aligned leagues for 2018-2019 season.
In an effort to create “competitive equity,” 14 members worked with the California Interscholastic Federation- Southern Section Northern Representative to reform leagues this past spring.
The newly aligned leagues are as follows
The Marmonte League (for football only) includes:
* Oaks Christian High School
* Westlake High School
* St. Bonaventure High School
* Newbury Park High School
* Calabasas High School
The Camino League includes:
* Adolfo Camarillo High School
* Thousand Oaks High School
* Moorpark High School
* Grace Brethren High School
* Bishop Diego High School
The Canyon League includes:
* Simi Valley High School
* Royal High School
* Agoura High School
* Oak Park High School
Ventura County High Schools are part of the California Interscholastic Federation, which includes 10 sections that encompass the entire state of California. Ventura County high schools are part of the Southern Section, the largest of all the sections with 586 member schools. The sections are as follows:
* Central Section (101 Schools)
* Oakland Section (20 Schools)
* Central Section (143 Schools)
* Sac-Joaquin Section (198 Schools)
* Los Angeles Section (128 Schools)
* San Diego Section (124 Schools)
* North Coast Sections (169 Schools)
* San Francisco Section (15 Schools)
* Northern Section (70 Schools)
* Southern Section (586 Schools)
