(Ventura County, Ca) The National Weather Service has issued a weather advisory for most of Ventura County warning about wind gusts for the next day 36 hours until noon on Wednesday.
The areas to be impacted include:
- Ventura County Interior Valleys-Ventura County Coastal Valleys-cities of Santa Paula, Fillmore, Ojai, Piru,Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Newbury Park
- Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area-Santa Clarita Valley-Los Angeles County San Fernando Valley-Including the cities of Santa Clarita, Newhall, Valencia, Woodland Hills, Northridge, Burbank, and Universal City
Northwest to north winds are expected to reach 20 to 35 mph with gusts 45 to 55 mph will persist on Monday evening. Strongest winds are expected to occur across the Santa Clarita Valley. Winds are expected to shift to the northeast late tonight and Tuesday, with gusts 40 to 50 mph expected.
The expected impact will make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. In addition, the gusty winds will bring the potential for downed trees and powerlines.
Residents and those in the area are advised to use extra caution when driving. Be prepared for sudden gusty cross winds.
